First Sunday — September: Celebrating Dolly

Sun­day, Sep­tem­ber 6th at 2:00 pm SLT, Cale­do­nia Sky­tow­er presents a live broad­cast from the Ceil­u­radh Glen at Sean­chai Library. The world lost some bright lights in the last few weeks, and today we will cel­e­brate one of the brightest. 

Dol­ly Par­ton was a super­star whose impact was not lim­it­ed to coun­try — cross­ing genre lines with her dis­tinc­tive bell-clear vocal tone and work­ing with musi­cal artists across so many styles, gen­res and eras. Her impact was also not lim­it­ed to music — a phil­an­thropist led by heart and com­mon sense. Self effac­ing, fun­ny, open, unapolo­getic, gen­er­ous, smarter than she liked to admit, and bright. Very bright. We’ll cel­e­brate her work today through her music, alone and with others.
