The Glinka Gallery — Featuring artist Lash VV
June is Pride Month in the United States and many other countries, and that’s just one of the reasons that we’re featuring Wolfgang Glinka’s Glinka Gallery in this edition of “Where Have You Been?”.
For those who might not know, Pride Month started in 1969 in the United States as a response to the Stonewall riots, which served as a catalyst for the gay rights movement in the United States and around the world. The observance has grown and expanded over the years, and Pride Month celebrates LGBTQIA+ culture as well as working to build rights awareness.
The Glinka Gallery holds regular exhibitions and performances on the gallery’s five floors, featuring fine art, sculpture, photography, poetry, music and dance.
The Edge Gallery — in black & white
Kultivate Magazine is a publication about the cultural aspects of Second Life — and a lot more! Its goal is to support art, culture, photography, music, and fashion.
Kultivate’s endeavours in Second Life include the magazine (of course) but their grid presence is significant, incorporating, among other things, a number of galleries including The Edge Gallery of Black & White Imagery, which is the subject of this programme.
The Edge Gallery specifically features black and white imagery and art. We take a more detailed look at the current exhibit, which just opened, showing a variety of artists with unique approaches to monochrome 2‑D imagery.

Where Have You Been?: A Hidden Gem
Often on “Where Have You Been?” we feature large-scale locations — art galleries, nature regions and so on. But in addition from time to time we’ve featured smaller, more intimate venues ideal for a quiet chat with a friend or a date night. “Where Have You Been?” is in a good position to feature destinations like these. So we are starting a special occasional series to focus on small destinations, in addition to continuing our coverage of larger venues, art shows, and events: “Hidden Gems — for date nights and special occasions.” And this episode is the first official Hidden Gems episode.
Where Have You Been? — A New Season
We’re pleased to announce the start of the third series of our original programme, “Where Have You Been?”, where we discuss places to visit and things to do around the Second Life grid — and we try to ensure they’re usually things and places that the major commentators miss.
“WYB” airs every Wednesday and Saturday at 12 noon and 4pm Pacific / SLT, and each episode is broadcast over a couple of weeks. And don’t miss “Engines of Our Ingenuity” from the University of Houston, every four hours from 4am Pacific.
Our destinations generally fall into one of three categories: Art, Exploration and Events. In the first episode of the new season, it’s the first of those, as we take a trip over to GBTH, aka “Grab By The Horns” — a virtual visual arts incubator in Second Life, founded in October 2017 by Marina Münter.
Where Have You Been? visits The Temple of the Divine Feminine
In this episode of our original series, “Where Have You Been?” we visit The Temple of the Divine Feminine, on SLEA Region 2. It’s the creation of 20 women artists and creators coordinated by KismaKSR Resident, and occupies a full region — a very full region — with messages celebrating feminine power, creativity, and voices, including some important focal issues.
The installation is divided into four major themed areas arranged like a medicine wheel. Each area has an entry gallery, a space for invocation, and the temple itself. Each of these four areas aligns with the four elements — air, fire, water, and earth — and are laid out along the major axes of the compass.
Monsters, Demons & Chess
Join us on Wednesdays or Saturdays, at noon or 4pm Pacific/SLT, 8pm or midnight in the UK, for the latest episode of our series Where Have You Been? at 12 noon and 4pm Pacific, where we suggest places to go and things to do around the Second Life Grid.
This time we take a dive into the possibilities of AI in art: there’s a gallery exhibit this month composed completely of AI Images at Kondor Art Center by artist Monique Beebe: “Monsters, Demons, & Chess” and that’s our featured destination for this episode. This edition airs November 16, 19, 23 and 26.

Ancient Journeys
Today, join us on a musical journey across the Ancient World, guided by the ancient and mysterious Piri Reis Map; and look at the use of AI in art at 12 noon/4pm SLT. And tune in for Engines of Our Ingenuity every four hours from 4am Pacific.
On our musical journey, we visit Ancient Greece, Rome and beyond to encounter the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We rediscover lost Atlantis, the ancient civilisations of South America, cross the Pacific and even travel to Antarctica and the Moon.
