Where Have You Been? visits The Temple of the Divine Feminine
In this episode of our original series, “Where Have You Been?” we visit The Temple of the Divine Feminine, on SLEA Region 2. It’s the creation of 20 women artists and creators coordinated by KismaKSR Resident, and occupies a full region — a very full region — with messages celebrating feminine power, creativity, and voices, including some important focal issues.
The installation is divided into four major themed areas arranged like a medicine wheel. Each area has an entry gallery, a space for invocation, and the temple itself. Each of these four areas aligns with the four elements — air, fire, water, and earth — and are laid out along the major axes of the compass.
Tarot @ Teatime — Episode 6
It’s time for another episode in our twice-monthly series on the Tarot, Tarot @ Teatime, with Willow Moonfire and Honey Heart. The show airs on Thursdays and Sundays at 12 noon and 4pm Pacific Time (8pm and midnight in the UK), and a different episode is aired every two weeks.
Episode 6 covers Part Two of the significance of numbers in the Minor Arcana. We present qualities and keywords associated with the numbers six through 10.
The primary resource mentioned is the Rider Waite Smith Tarot deck. It is available from the publisher, US Games Systems, Inc. and numerous bookstores and online book sellers.
Hits In Hi-Fi
Today — Saturday 26th November — we’ll take a nostalgic journey back to the 1960s and beyond, when music was on vinyl and home stereo was new and excitingly futuristic… with Hits In Hi-Fi.
In the early days of stereo, a significant number of albums were released that were designed especially to show off the wonders of this new way of presenting musical entertainment. Sounds “ping-ponged” across the stereo soundstage; instruments appeared hard on one side and then hard on the other… and there were a lot of space references, bloops and bleeps starting and ending the pieces — and once the Moog Synthesiser became available, that was included in the mix too.
The Magic of The Musical: “Musicals for the Win!”
The Magic of The Musical explores the blending of music and drama — featuring the songs, history, and lore that make up the musical theater canon. Learn more about some of your favorite shows and composers as we cue the orchestra, and the overture begins.
This show is now available on Mixcloud
This month’s episode features musicals that have been honored with the Pultizer Prize for Drama. The Drama category of this prestigious award recognizes a distinguished play by an American author, preferably original in its source and dealing with American life. It is an impressive list that includes everything from Gershwin to Steven Sondheim, to Lin-Manuel Miranda. The list fascinates as much for what is missing from it as the shows that were honored.
Today Host Caledonia Skytower explores the list with a few side trips. Join us today: Saturday, November 19th at 2pm pacific at the Virtual Community Radio Theater on Chestnut Hills, or tune in to listen on-the-air, for The Magic Of The Musical:
