Smooth Jazz
Hello and welcome to Virtual Community Radio. Today, Weds 10 March, we are featuring a collection of Smooth Jazz pieces to relax with and enjoy in these difficult times.
The majority of pieces are instrumental and in general the music is on the Jazz end of the New Age spectrum.
Today we are featuring the 2001 album Aart by Acoustic Alchemy, with a track during every hour through the day. This album was nominated for a Grammy for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album. The history of the band goes back to the 1980s and although the original founders were from the UK, they were hardly ever heard there, apart from a track of theirs being picked up by the BBC as the theme for the TV series Gardeners’ World. You can learn more about the band here.
Today you also have another chance to catch Episode 3 of our ongoing series Where’ve You Been, where Caledonia Skytower and Elrik Merlin look at interesting places to visit and things to do around the Second Life Grid: it’s on at 12 noon and 4pm Pacific Time (20:00 and 00:00 UTC). You can also hear Engines of Our Ingenuity from the University of Houston at 12 noon, 4pm, 8pm and midnight UTC (4am and every four hours thereafter Pacific).
