First Sunday — March: Beatles By Arrangement
At Virtual Community Radio, we believe Sunday afternoons are the perfect time to treat yourself to something special. That’s why we invite you to join us at 2pm SLT on the First Sunday (usually) afternoon of each month as we present a different musical treat: one hour of music on a theme. It could be anything — new age music, orchestral classics, soundtracks, or music celebrating a particular culture.
Beatles by Arrangement is our theme for March, curated this month by Elrik Merlin. This programme is now available on Mixcloud.
The songs of Lennon and McCartney have inspired countless artists over the decades, and many of those reinterpretations have taken on a life of their own. In this programme, we explore an hour of some of the finest — and most intriguing — covers, with a particular focus on instrumental and orchestral renditions.
Expect imaginative contributions ranging from George Martin (of course!) and Santana to Percy Faith — and even Sean Connery.
Join us on Virtual Community Radio on Sunday, March 1st at 2pm SLT (Pacific) for a rich and varied journey through Beatles classics — by arrangement.
