Where Have You Been? — A New Season
We’re pleased to announce the start of the third series of our original programme, “Where Have You Been?”, where we discuss places to visit and things to do around the Second Life grid — and we try to ensure they’re usually things and places that the major commentators miss.
“WYB” airs every Wednesday and Saturday at 12 noon and 4pm Pacific / SLT, and each episode is broadcast over a couple of weeks. And don’t miss “Engines of Our Ingenuity” from the University of Houston, every four hours from 4am Pacific.
Our destinations generally fall into one of three categories: Art, Exploration and Events. In the first episode of the new season, it’s the first of those, as we take a trip over to GBTH, aka “Grab By The Horns” — a virtual visual arts incubator in Second Life, founded in October 2017 by Marina Münter.
Where Have You Been? visits The Temple of the Divine Feminine
In this episode of our original series, “Where Have You Been?” we visit The Temple of the Divine Feminine, on SLEA Region 2. It’s the creation of 20 women artists and creators coordinated by KismaKSR Resident, and occupies a full region — a very full region — with messages celebrating feminine power, creativity, and voices, including some important focal issues.
The installation is divided into four major themed areas arranged like a medicine wheel. Each area has an entry gallery, a space for invocation, and the temple itself. Each of these four areas aligns with the four elements — air, fire, water, and earth — and are laid out along the major axes of the compass.
Monsters, Demons & Chess
Join us on Wednesdays or Saturdays, at noon or 4pm Pacific/SLT, 8pm or midnight in the UK, for the latest episode of our series Where Have You Been? at 12 noon and 4pm Pacific, where we suggest places to go and things to do around the Second Life Grid.
This time we take a dive into the possibilities of AI in art: there’s a gallery exhibit this month composed completely of AI Images at Kondor Art Center by artist Monique Beebe: “Monsters, Demons, & Chess” and that’s our featured destination for this episode. This edition airs November 16, 19, 23 and 26.

Ancient Journeys
Today, join us on a musical journey across the Ancient World, guided by the ancient and mysterious Piri Reis Map; and look at the use of AI in art at 12 noon/4pm SLT. And tune in for Engines of Our Ingenuity every four hours from 4am Pacific.
On our musical journey, we visit Ancient Greece, Rome and beyond to encounter the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We rediscover lost Atlantis, the ancient civilisations of South America, cross the Pacific and even travel to Antarctica and the Moon.
Where Have You Been? S02E20: SL’s Top Haunted Places Tour & Hunt
In the latest episode of our original series, “Where Have You Been?”, where we look at things to do and places to see across the Second Life Grid, Cale and Rik discuss the SL Top Haunted Places Tour & Hunt — a unique list of Hallowe’en locations and events in Second Life.
The show will be broadcast on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 12 noon and 4pm Pacific/SLT (8pm and midnight in the UK), until the end of October.
Where Have You Been? S02E19: Rosehaven Caverns
LISTEN NOW! LINK BELOW
In the latest episode of our original series, “Where Have You Been?”, where we look at things to do and places to see across the Second Life Grid, Cale and Rik visit the Rosehaven Caverns — a new development that enables you to navigate around the estate underground! The show goes out Sept 28, and Oct 1, 5 and 8, at 12 noon and 4pm Pacific/SLT; 8pm and midnight in the UK.
The system is growing every day and each of the caves are built by different denizens of the realm, making this a huge collaborative experience to explore and get lost in. There’s a subway entrance in Laudanum leading to the Underground, a mine shaft outside a gothic castle on the other end of the realm leading into the tunnels, not to mention a handful of secret pirate tunnels. Each resident participating adds their own style and imagination to their design and then connects to the nexus.
Where Have You Been S02E18: Duran Duran Universe
In the latest episode of our original series, “Where Have You Been?”, where we look at things to do and places to see across the Second Life Grid, Cale and Rik visit the Duran Duran Universe.
Whether Simon, Nick, John and Roger are logged in or not, the four-region Duran Duran Universe is a marvelous place to explore and hang out. One of the most successful things about the estate is that it really conveys the energy of the 1980s visually — from the Patrick Nagel flag winking at you from the flying microphone, to the gigantic lipstick tower, to the mud wrestling pit (!), it is just totally suffused with the vibe of those times.
There are 16 listings for the Duran Duran Universe in the Second Life Destination Guide, and it has its own sub-heading in the destination menu. And that’s just scratching the surface: whether you are exploring the Lipstick Tower, the Mediterranean Spa, the Tower of Hades, the Teahouse or The Love Chapel … There’s just a whole lot to see and explore.
The episode premieres on September 14th and runs on Wednesday and Saturday at noon and 4pm SLT/Pacific Time (8pm and midnight in the UK) until September 24.

Where Have You Been S02E17: Susan’s Diary
LISTEN NOW:
In the latest episode of our original series, “Where Have You Been?”, where we look at things to do and places to see across the Second Life Grid, Cale and Rik make a pre-Hallowe’en visit to “Susan’s Diary”, at Delacruz Park, owned by Sergio Delacrus, an Italian builder and programmer who works as a freelance VR Experience creator, 3D modeler and texture artist.
Not only has he created products and experiences in Second Life, but he has done a significant amount of work in Sansar as well. His experience, “Susan’s Diary”, in Second Life involves a missing child: to solve the mystery of Susan’s disappearance involves a HUD-based game, hunting for clues, and finding the pages of Susan’s diary to unlock the mystery of her fate. There’s also an associated YouTube channel. It makes for an excellent pre-Hallowe’en entertainment.
“Susan’s Diary” is part of a larger games park with flight rides, roller coaster, boats, hang gliders, bungee jumping, a sci-fi area, and a flying dragon — all free to explore. The teleport to “Susan’s Diary” in Delacruz Park is right by the main landing area.
The episode premieres on August 31st and runs on Wednesday and Saturday at noon and 4pm SLT/Pacific Time (8pm and midnight in the UK) until September 10.

Where Have You Been? S02E16: The Nature Collective
In this episode of our original series, “Where Have You Been?” we visit The Nature Collective — or rather, we visit the Collective’s headquarters and the work of some of their members.
The Nature Collective was created with the goal of cultivating a community around regions, spaces and projects which share a common focus on nature. It is their hope to foster a movement to help people engage and reconnect with the wonder and joy of nature, in the virtual world and beyond.
The Collective was the brainchild of Emmalee Evergarden, and she has drawn together a group of dedicated volunteers who share her commitment to nature spaces, and who form the volunteer staff of The Collective.
To begin exploring the nearly 100 nature destinations that are part of the Nature Collective in Second Life, just visit their headquarters and pick up your Explorer HUD — and off you go. TNC are also members of the “Forever Tourist” network.
To learn more, catch this episode, which airs on Wednesdays and Saturdays on Aug 10, 13, 17, 20, 24, and 27 at 12 noon and 4pm SLT/Pacific (8pm and midnight in the UK).

Where Have You Been? S02E15: Hello Kitty Tribute
In this episode of our original series, “Where Have You Been?” we visit the 4- region “Hello Kitty” tribute theme park on the Astralia regions. Hello Kitty is the little adorable white cat character who is numbered among the highest grossing media franchises of all time.
Astralia Creations is a clothing and décor creator in Second Life, featuring a wide variety of products, many of which feature a graphic style and color palette similar to the popular Japanese character Hello Kitty and the additional characters that make up the Hello Kitty brand.
Hello Kitty is a prominent part of the cuteness culture, or kawaii aesthetic, of Japanese popular culture which includes entertainment, clothing, food, toys, personal appearance, and mannerisms. In Kitty’s world there are at least ten characters, including Kitty herself, and a host of other objects and details in that world’s signature simple style.
This episode airs on Wednesdays and Saturdays from July 27 to August 6 inclusive.
