Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler! Mardi Gras on VCRadio
It’s Mardi Gras time here on Virtual Community Radio, and our Featured Genre will be the music of Carnival and Mardi Gras, from New Orleans to Latin America and beyond, plus some old-time R&B and Trad Jazz.
In addition, you can hear an episode of our original series, Where Have You Been? where we discuss things to do and places to visit across the SL Grid: 12 noon and 4pm SLT/Pacific.
And don’t miss The Engines of Our Ingenuity from The University of Houston’s College of Engineering — a series about the machines that make our civilization run, and the people whose ingenuity created them — every four hours from 4am SLT/Pacific.

The 2023 Edition of the Dickens Project
Now open — until January 7th!
Major Virtual Community Radio sponsor and supporter Seanchai Library is pleased to announce the opening of The Dickens Project 2023 Edition.
This Second Life winter holiday tradition invites guests to walk in the steps of Ebenezer Scrooge in an environment inspired by Charles Dickens’ 1843 novella “A Christmas Carol.” An invited community of Second Life residents, groups, and organizations will present a variety of music events, performances, tours, and story presentations.
Other features include skating, sledding, a balloon ride, a horse cart tour, plenty of photo opportunities, and several new features this year. The Dickens Project regions opened on Thursday, December 7th, and close at the end of the day on Sunday, January 7th.

Where Have You Been?: Two Sides of October
In the latest episode of our original series, “Where Have You Been?”, which suggests things to do and places to visit around the Second Life Grid, we approach the month of October in two different ways: The Briar Woods present a pleasant Autumnal scene, while the Ride of Doom lends a Hallowe’en-ish feeling to the proceedings. Both are well worth a visit!
We also suggest a couple of other venues that might be worth your perusal.
This show airs on October 25 and 28, plus Nov 1 and 4, at 12 noon and 4pm SLT/Pacific.
