We’re pleased to present the lat­est episode in our orig­i­nal series, “Where Have You Been?”, where we dis­cuss things to do and places to vis­it across the Sec­ond Life Grid. Episodes are broad­cast on Wednes­days and Sat­ur­days at 12 noon and 4pm SLT/Pacific Time. In this episode we expe­ri­ence Jour­ney to the Cen­tre of the Earth, at SLEA 8.

This is a clas­sic adven­ture that our lis­ten­ers can expe­ri­ence for them­selves now at Sec­ond Life Endow­ment for the Arts Region 8. This odyssey was cre­at­ed by Klark Harvy & Vir­tu­oso Per­form­ing Arts, and was inspired by Jules Vernes’ 1864 nov­el Jour­ney to the Cen­ter of the Earth — the sto­ry of an adven­tur­ous geol­o­gy pro­fes­sor who chances upon a man­u­script in which a 16th-cen­tu­ry explor­er claims to have found a route to the Earth­’s core. Pro­fes­sor Liden­brock can’t resist the oppor­tu­ni­ty to inves­ti­gate, and with his nephew Axel, he sets off across Ice­land in the com­pa­ny of Hans Bjelke, a native guide. Vir­tu­oso Per­form­ing Arts has cre­at­ed a region-wide explo­ration that cel­e­brates the good Professor’s jour­ney and all the won­ders that he and his com­pan­ions encounter along the way.

Along with key mem­bers of the Vir­tu­oso com­pa­ny and Meta­harp­er cre­ator Arrehn Ober­lan­der, Vir­tu­oso presents a ful­ly immer­sive Jour­ney expe­ri­ence, based on the hike the trav­el­ers in Vernes’ nov­el might have tak­en to reach the entrance to the volcano.

This pro­gramme airs at 12 noon and 4pm SLT/Pacific, on Sept 14, 18, 21, 25 and 28.
