Every month, your host Caledonia Skytower spotlights a different show or creative personality from the musical theatre canon. The first episode, Tilting At Windmills, highlights Man of La Mancha, with music from several different productions. You can tune into the show on the air or join the audience in the VCRadio Theater. Here’s a taste of what’s to come…

The Incredible Adventures of Jack Flanders — Part 5

Tune in for the latest episode of our exciting radio serial from our friends at ZBS Foundation: The Incredible Adventures of Jack Flanders! There are 10 half-hour episodes, one every Friday at noon and 4pm Pacific/SLT.

THE INCREDIBLE ADVENTURES OF JACK FLANDERS

In the dead of night, a large shipping crate is delivered to the home of our hero Jack Flanders. Opening the crate, Jack discovers a green velvet overstuffed chair. Each night at the stroke of midnight, Jack sits in the soft, comfortable chair which comes alive, luring him onto its velvety realm. Everyday reality fades away, and Jack finds himself in a strange, other-world of magic, pirates, and sorcery where huge puffballs cling to ceilings and walls, masted sailing ships with wings fly the skies and islands float in the air…

Tarot @ Teatime — Episode 30: 3‑card spreads & layering

In this episode, Honey Heart and Elrik Merlin continue their discussion of 3‑card spreads by looking at the many ways in which this simple but informative spread can be used, assigning different interpretations to the cards that appear in the three positions of the reading, such as “Past/Present/Future” and “Mind/Body/Spirit”.

In our previous episode, we talked about the use of 1, 2 and 3‑card readings and why and when you’d choose one of these over the larger spreads. As we learned, even these small spreads can pack a lot of information into just a few cards. Now in this episode, we dig a little deeper into that workhorse of a spread, the 3‑card spread.

We’ll talk about how these spreads can be used effectively to assist in personal development, and we’ll talk about how to enhance these spreads by using the “layering” technique — adding cards from other decks to a reading. We’ve mentioned the layering technique before, but we’ll go into quite a lot more depth here.

Episode 30 premieres on Thursday April 14th at 12 noon and 4pm /SLT Pacific Time (8pm and midnight in the UK) and is repeated at the same times on Sundays and Thursdays until April 24th.

“Where Have You Been?” visits Serenity Valley

At 12 noon and 4pm Pacific Time on Wednesday and Saturday from April 13th for two weeks, tune in for the latest edition of “Where Have You Been?” where we take a look at places to visit and things to do around the Second Life Grid. Series 2, Episode 8 features an exquisitely detailed and extensive region with a wide variety of places to hang out and explore above and below ground: Serenity Valley.

The SLURL for Serenity Valley is http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Windy/62/58/75 and note that the region is rated Adult.

And every four hours from 4am Pacific, catch Engines of Our Ingenuity from the University of Houston — a radio programme that tells the story of how our culture is formed by human creativity.

“Tarot @ Teatime” — LIVE!

Today, Sunday 10th April, join Honey Heart and Elrik Merlin, the hosts of our original series, “Tarot@Teatime”, for a live presentation at the popular PaganFest festival at Covenstead in Second Life. https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Covenstead/162/161/1471

The presentation starts at 1pm SLT/9pm in the UK and focuses on “layering” in Tarot reading — enhancing your Tarot reading skills by using additional decks in parallel with your main one.

Whether you’re a professional Taromancer or just starting out, you should find this presentation of interest.

And don’t miss your last chance to hear the current edition of “Tarot @ Teatime” at 12 noon or 4pm SLT.  In episode 29, Honey and Elrik discuss the use of 1, 2 and 3‑card readings — and why and when you’d choose one of these over the larger spreads. These are relatively simple spreads — but you don’t always need a grand tableau or even a 9‑card spread every time you read. And a 3‑card spread can pack a lot of information into just those three cards. They also touch on Tarot Year and Birth cards.

Music of the Baroque

Today, Saturday April 9th, we explore the music of the Baroque era. We’ll be including the work of a wide range of composers, and today’s programme includes a wide selection of compositions by J S Bach.

Then at 12 noon and 4pm Pacific / 8pm or midnight UK time, there’s another chance to hear the latest episode of “Where Have You Been?”, our show on places to visit and things to do around the Second Life Grid, broadcast every Wednesday and Saturday. In the current episode, we visit the Ribong Gallery Artspace, where noted artist Haveit Neox has a new exhibition, along with other artists.

And every four hours from 4am Pacific/noon in the UK, tune in for “The Engines of Our Ingenuity”, from the University of Houston, about the machines that make our civilization run and the people whose ingenuity created them.
