Four ‘English’ Composers
Purcell, Handel, Haydn and Mendelssohn… four composers who were profoundly influenced by their life in England.
Only one of them was actually born there (Purcell). However, all four had a major impact on British classical music, and today we’re featuring pieces from all four of them.
